What can we do?

Covid-19 is not going to disappear, it is going to be around for at least 2 years and a lot of people are scared for their health but just as importantly, a lot of people are scared for their wallets. So what is going to happen? Here is my best guess...

1) MONEY:

There will be a lot less of it, so save it! Don't spend money on anything you don't need. Like food from a fine-dine restaurant, a car, or the stock-market, because it's going to crash. Don't buy those fancy shirts from the H&M or that cute handbag from Chanel. They won't be necessary, also because we need to remember that Weddings, parties or any large gatherings won't be back for a while. Buy the local products and help your countries economy.

2) JOBS:

Many jobs are in danger, like waiters, tour guides, the hospitality industry etc. It is going to take at least two years to get the same number of jobs back. So we can spend this free time on getting a skill that can make money fast. The world may need even more people with an IT degree.

If you are not sure whether you want to study medicine, then I highly recommend you take the course up. Covid-19 has shown the world that we does not need Gucci, Social media influencers, or vloggers. The world needs doctors, nurses, police officers etc. These people who we often seem to have one million complaints about, are now out there, saving lives and truly making a difference!

3) FREELANCE:

Unemployment is going to increase everywhere. There will be no more large gatherings, group tours, busy offices, full airplanes, or money flying around. So, this is a time for you to create your own jobs online. Go online and teach the piano, offer your design services, start a workout workshop etc. Traditional city jobs are on the ebb of fleeting away.

However, right now, what WE the young generation can do is show more Compassion...

Most of us reading this, do have a chance to overcome the upcoming hardships. But for the people who are among the bottom 10% of the society, it's going to impossible, as not everyone can afford to up-skill themselves or even buy a computer.

Thus, income inequality is about to go up. The rich will stay rich, and the poor will grow poorer, so the gap is only going to grow wider. Millions of people will not be able to escape poverty.

So, take care of yourself first, and then take care of the needy/poor, as they will be facing a much harder time. This is not the time to spend money, it is the time to give money. Hopefully, this is how we can defeat this pandemic together. Stay home, stay safe!
